Brad Cyprus, company co-founder and chief of security and compliance, died on July 23, 2016, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by his family and loved ones, after a hard-fought struggle with cancer. To say he was incredibly well liked and respected by fellow employees and customers alike would be an understatement. With a never-ending passion to make the company, and the world, a better place, his presence will be sorely missed.
For 27 years, Brad held multiple positions in the company as the service offerings changed, the business grew, and the organization was renamed VendorSafe Technologies and now Netsurion. In his last role as chief of security and compliance, he used his extensive knowledge of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI) to guide retail, restaurant, and grocery chains toward compliance and to speak at industry conferences. He enjoyed educating employees about PCI and designing new services. He derived deep satisfaction from being of service to both customers and employees, while watching the business he shaped succeed. Customers appreciated his talent for translating complex concepts into plain English, and employees counted on his coaching and sense of humor. As Kevin Watson, CEO of Netsurion, commented, "He was the heart and soul of the organization."
Our hearts and prayers go out to Valerie, Mark, Leah, Russ and the rest of Brad’s family. In lieu of flowers and in Brad's memory, please consider a gift of time or money to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
or donating blood or platelets at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
