Prism Microsystems awarded coveted Common Criteria certification for EventTracker

Leading SIEM solution achieves rigorous international security certification

Columbia, MD – Prism Microsystems today announced that its industry leading comprehensive SIEM (Security Information and Event Log Management) solution, EventTracker, has achieved certification for Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 2 (EAL 2+), following a year-long analysis, and stringent testing by an accredited evaluation facility. The Common Criteria is an internationally endorsed set of standards (ISO/IEC 15408) for evaluating security features and capabilities of commercial IT security products. Common Criteria certification is reciprocally accepted across all 26 Common Criteria Recognition Agreement (CCRA) nations including the United States Canada, France, Germany, and India. EAL 2 represents a demanding analysis of the development methodology, and verification of the security components, specifying with a high level of confidence that EventTracker’s security functions will perform effectively.

Security conscious organizations including the US Government, as mandated by the National Information Assurance Acquisition Policy (NIAAP), require Common Criteria certification from their IT security vendors. With this achievement, Prism now holds one of the broadest sets of government certifications, and earns the distinction of being the only SIEM vendor to be both Common Criteria certified and SCAP validated for FDCC. The combination of the two further establishes EventTracker as an indisputable leader in the government space.
